The 'Company Policy' EP stars two giants of reggae; Dennis Brown and Aswad founder Brinsley Forde. Dennis Brown remains a reggae icon despite his death 12 years ago. During a prolific career he recorded over 75 albums and the major star of lovers rock. Many of his great recordings were produced by Gussie Clarke. Curtis Lynch was given unprecedented access to Clarke's back catalogue, and pulled out 'Let Me Down' - a gem of a track originally recorded sometime in the 1980s - as a top tune to remix and update. Lynch replayed just about every instrument and added a new sheen to the already heavy sounding tune, in which Brown describes being warned about a woman who is a known heartbreaker, and as the story unfolds he is not spared the same fate. On the flip, Brinsley Forde sounds vintage on the tough digital reggae rhythm of 'Ghetto Warrior', playing the role of freedom fighter on another tight Lynch production. Both sides have dub mixes from Da Grynch, who gives them the original reggae drum and bass style, layered with effects fit to be played in a top set. This EP was an instant sell-out when first released earlier this year, and is sure to be a big hit on the reggae scene once again when word of its repress gets into wider circulation. *necessary
