V/A – punk the capital (Video, DVD)

Documentary about the birth of punk and hardcore in DC (Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Henry Rollins). NTSC, all regions. 89 minutes running time, subtitles in French, Spanish and Portuguese. This music documentary explores the clash of cultures that unfolded when the underground punk music scene made inroads in Washington DC in the mid-late 1970s. Using newly discovered archival material and conversational interviews, it explores how the anarchic and transformative power of DC punk influenced a city run by conservative political elites. Directed by Paul Bishow and James Schneider.
