9tes Soloalbum des ehemaligen Screaming Trees Sängers - diesmal wieder mit der Mark Lanegan Band, von Alain Johannes produziert. Lanegan nutzte als kompositorisches Hauptwerkzeug sein Telefon mit der speziellen App "Funk Box". Er schrieb die kompletten Drum-Parts mit dieser App und fügte dann die Synthesizer- und Gitarrenspuren nach und nach hinzu. Lanegan verarbeitet unverkennbar Einflüsse aus Krautrock und 80s New Wave ("that´s the music that was happening when I started making music. And although the Trees drew on Nuggets psychedelia, 13th Floor Elevators and Love, we were actually listening to Echo And The Bunnymen, Rain Parade, the Gun Club. A lot of British post-punk.
